ART SAYS IT
STUDENT CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: To offer students an opportunity to use their talents, skills and the tools of drawing, painting and other art media to communicate a Biblical message.
Participation: Students in grades PreK-12. Entries will be evaluated at convention.
BANNER
STUDENT CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: To encourage team organization and creativity among students in the creation of banners to be displayed at group functions, youth rallies, church or in the community.
Participation: Students in grades PreK-12. The banner can be made from one or more types of material. Entries will be evaluated at convention.
BIBLE BOWL TEST
STUDENT PRE-CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: To enable students to enhance knowledge of textual content; to develop quick reference to Bible facts and gain knowledge of scripture; to bond through team spirit.
Participation: Individual students in grades K-12. Test answer sheets are submitted and evaluated prior to convention.

Purpose: To enable students to enhance knowledge of textual content; to develop quick reference to Bible facts and gain knowledge of scripture; to bond through team spirit.
Participation: Students in grades K-12 participate together in teams of four at convention.
ORAL BIBLE READING
STUDENT CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: To emphasize the fundamental importance of Bible reading and to strengthen the foundation for public speaking. Bible reading is an important skill for young people to develop -- the younger the better. Beyond the fundamental importance of reading the Bible, the skill of oral Bible reading is also a foundation for other public speaking.
Participation: Students in grades PreK-6 participate at convention.
YEAR-ROUND BIBLE READING/STUDY
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To further develop oral Bible reading skills and increase opportunities to serve.
Participation: Students in grades PreK-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
CENTURION OF SCRIPTURE
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To encourage memorization of God's word. In Acts 10, a centurion commanded 100 soldiers. The Centurion of Scripture commands 100 scriptures to memory.
Participation: Open to all students. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
DEBATE
STUDENT CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: To promote a deeper study of the scripture as it relates to important issues facing the church.
Participation: Boys and girls in grades 7-12 participate separately on teams of two at convention. The debate topic is announced each year.
GOOD SAMARITAN
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To reach out to others by going the extra mile. To teach the importance of showing people other than family the love of Jesus.
Participation: Open to all students. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
BARTIMAEUS
STUDENT CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: To recognize and give a forum at convention to students with special needs.
Participation: Open to all students with special needs.
PARADE OF LEADERS
STUDENT CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: To recognize those young people selected for their leadership qualities to represent their respective groups. The parade is the kickoff for the Friday evening awards ceremony at convention.
Participation: Two students will be chosen to participate in this parade of leaders at convention. Students may be chosen by the local congregation, team leaders or peers.
READ THE WORD
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To encourage students to read the Scriptures.
Participation: Open to all students. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
PEARLS
STUDENT PRE-CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: A thirteen-lesson study that digs deeper into the Bible Bowl book and theme for the year. This is excellent material for Bible School classes or individual study.
Participation: Students in grades 3-12. Test answer sheets are submitted and evaluated prior to convention. See the L2L Event Rulebook for details.
PUPPET THEATER
STUDENT CONVENTION EVENT
Purpose: To train students in a creative way using puppets and for the participants to learn valuable team-building skills in their preparation and presentation.
Participation: Students in grades PreK-12 participate at convention on teams of up to twelve students. See the L2L Event Rulebook for details.
YEAR-ROUND PUPPETEERING
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: An established team of puppeteers prepares and presents at least 10 presentations during the year as a teaching tool to reach out to the community. Examples: Vacation Bible School, children’s training classes, inner city ministries, hospitals, mission trips, nursing homes, schools, etc.

SCRAPBOOK

Purpose: To serve as a record of activities and growth of individual students and/or groups.
Participation: Individual students in grades 3-12. Students in grades PreK-12 participate in teams for group entries. Entries will be evaluated at convention.

Purpose: To train Christians to use the media effectively.
Participation: Students in grades 3-12. Entries will be submitted and evaluated prior to convention.
YEAR-ROUND SONG LEADING/SONGS OF PRAISE
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To prepare young men to be accomplished song leaders by leading songs in worship assemblies, Bible classes, devotional groups, or other appropriate audiences. Young ladies are preparing to lead songs in appropriate settings such as ladies classes, at ladies days or young kids’ classes.
Participation: Students in grades 3-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
SECOND LANGUAGE
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To promote and increase the ability of men and women to be able to communicate basic information and also to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ in a foreign language and/or sign language.
Participation: Students in grades K-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
GIFTS - GIRLS IN FELLOWSHIP & TEAM STUDY
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To foster a spirit of cooperation and fellowship between Christian teen girls. To help them develop a spiritual relationship with other team members in order to overcome temptation and serve God faithfully. To help them grow in ability to lead and participate in Ladies’ Bible studies and to complete practical projects that will benefit the local congregation and community.
Participation: Girls in grades 6-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
GUARD - GUYS UNDERSTANDING AUTHORITY & REAL DISCIPLESHIP
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT

Purpose: To teach the books of the Bible and their themes.
Participation: Students in grades PreK-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
JUNIOR LEADER
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To instill basic leadership skills in young participants. Participants study Bible leaders and the leadership qualities that they had both good and bad. Participants will complete practical projects that will benefit the local congregation and community.
Participation: Students in grades K-5. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
TEACH TO TEACH
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To train qualified teachers for Bible classes. Participants will follow a natural progression from assisting their master teacher in the classroom setting, to creating lesson plans and finally being able to teach classes while being observed by their master teacher.
Participation: Students in grades 7-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
YEAR-ROUND BULLETIN BOARD
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To train students to become adept at decorating bulletin boards for the local congregation.
Participation: Students in grades 3-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.

Purpose: To teach young men to grow into adult men of good character and reputation, and to instill in them the desire to become leaders in the Lord’s church.

Purpose: To develop technical skills and creativity in designing visual aids to accompany biblical lessons.

Purpose: To allow students the opportunity to assist at convention.
Participation: Students in grades 7-12.
KEEPERS
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To provide experience in practical homemaking skills that will be valuable to all Christian girls and women including those who work, at any point, outside the home.
Participation: Girls in grades 3-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
PROVIDERS
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To provide experience in typical areas of heading and maintaining a home and family that will be valuable to all Christian boys.
Participation: Boys in grades 3-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
DEFENDER
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: The Defender event is designed to help young people understand the Christian’s responsibility to always be ready to give a defense of the Christian faith.
Participation: Students in grades 6-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
SOWER
STUDENT YEAR-ROUND EVENT
Purpose: To learn the skill of approaching others to ask for a personal Bible study. To learn the skill of personal evangelism. To focus on the Scriptures necessary to know in teaching others how to follow Jesus Christ and obey the gospel.
Participation: Students in grades 6-12. All requirements are completed during the year prior to the convention registration deadline.
